Hello! I'm so pleased to be returning to 3rd grade this year. It will be my eight year of teaching at Heron Pond Elementary, all in 3rd with the exception of a year in 2nd grade. Creating a respectful and safe learning environment, that inspires and gives students the confidence needed to reach their academic and social potential, is my personal and professional goal. Helping students feel empowered through learning is a very rewarding experience for me.
My personal journey to my teaching career is not necessarily a traditional one. After being raised, the youngest of 5 children, in Brookline, NH, I was lucky enough to follow a long line of family members to UNH. While there, I received a BA in Communication and met my husband, Steve. I spent the next several years at home raising our daughters, Kelly and Mary Beth, who are currently students at, you guessed it, UNH! As our children became older and more independent, I attended Rivier College and obtained my Elementary Education certification. It is through my former and ongoing formal education, and my job as a parent, that I enthusiastically approach my teaching career.
